Hi, I’m abby.

Designer/Explorer.

I started undergrad as a Fisheries major (I love the outdoors), and ended up a designer (I’m bad at math.) I’d never taken art classes before, but it looked like fun—definitely more fun than the physics classes I would have to take if I stayed in Fisheries.

I jumped on the design train and never looked back. I quickly learned that graphic designers get to do it all! I’ve designed conservation education graphics, a skincare brand, a collector’s edition bespoke shotgun book, a bourbon magazine, and everything in between. The projects I work on are all over the map in terms of content and audience, but they all fall under the same umbrella: storytelling. I specialize in learning the ins and outs of what each of my clients do, then finding the best way to communicate about it.

There’s one thing that is integral to both the outdoors and design and that is the reason I can’t seem to pull myself away from either one: storytelling. We, like every living thing, communicate. We tell stories around campfires and publish books that are passed from one generation to the next. The way we communicate is ever-evolving. I love the idea that design, and I, by extension, play a small part in this.

I help my clients tell their stories. Together, we leave no rock unturned in an effort to find the truest, most beautiful version of whatever story each client has to tell. It’s often in this exploration that we find the most thoughtful, unexpected direction to run with. And it’s often in this unexpected direction that my clients feel best known and understood! I love having the opportunity to go down that road with someone—even if it’s just to say, “We tried it out, here’s what we learned.”
