Christmas in July
End-users may not know this…but designers (marketers, retail folks, etc.) celebrate Christmas in July every year. We create our Christmas pieces over the summer so they’re ready to go flying off the shelves come November 1. (Gotta love capitalism.) This is great news for me. I love the holidays. In case you didn’t catch this, I’m one of those people who opens the Christmas floodgates on November 1. Not the day after Thanksgiving. November 1. With great pleasure, I spent my summer designing this book and dreaming of a white Christmas—while sitting on the beach. Bing Crosby and mojitos, anyone?
on the first day of Christmas…
I’ll be honest, I feel like I hardly did any work on this one. When you have a lot of talent on your team, rarely does the work feel super…worky. Between Kelly’s clever word and Jan’s top-notch illustrations, there wasn’t much left but for me to throw it all on paper. I was a glorified organizer, here. Proud to have my name alongside the talents of Kelly and Jan!
